Royal Consort was acquired by Frederick Kemp in 1847 and the vessel was first registered at Preston. In March 1850, however, the registration was transferred to Fleetwood. She was of iron plate on an iron frame construction and 178ft in length. The vessel carried 3 masts and was schooner rigged. Over the years she underwent several alterations until she was finally 215ft long and 796 gross tons with her masts being reduced to 2. |
